Competition Rules

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN

  1. This competition is open only to residents of the UK, aged 16 or more on the date of entry.
  2. Employees of VRM Swansea-Plates4less, its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, and suppliers, and immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of Employees are not eligible to participate in the competition.
  3. By participating, entrants agree to be fully unconditionally bound by these Competition Rules.
  4. All entrants should familiarise themselves with the DVLA rules governing the purchase, sale, display, and transfer of UK Vehicle registration marks and our Standard Terms and Conditions of business, as detailed on our website here (https://www.plates4less.co.uk/number-plates-guides/about-us-and-our-policies/terms-and-conditions/), which will govern the eventual use and delivery of the prize.
  5. Entries will be accepted starting on 11/07/2023 and ending 22/08/2023. All entries must be received by the end of 22/08/2023. The winner will be announced shortly after.
  6. Entrants must Like and Follow our VRM Swansea-Plates4less Facebook page to be eligible to win.
  7. To enter, participants must select a personalised vehicle registration mark (private number plate) from those available on our website plates4less.co.uk and enter their choice in the comments section of the competition Facebook post, explaining their reasons for choosing the registration. They must also ‘like’ the post.
  8. The entry must fulfil all competition requirements to be eligible. Entries that are incomplete or do not adhere to the rules or specifications may be disqualified at the discretion of VRM Swansea-Plates4less. Only one entry is permitted per participant. Using multiple email addresses, identities, or devices in an attempt to circumvent the rules, using other fraudulent methods, or otherwise attempting to circumvent the rules, will result in disqualification from the competition.
  9. No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received, for whatever reason.
  10. The winner of the competition will receive a registration up to the value of £300 (including VAT and fees), or a £300 discount from a more expensive registration. No cash or other prize substitution shall be permitted, except in cases where the chosen registration is no longer available, in which case an alternative choice of registration will be permitted. The registration is for vehicles registered in Scotland, England, Wales, or Northern Ireland. The prize is non-transferable. Any and all prize-related expenses, including without limitation any and all legal fees and/or taxes, shall be the sole responsibility of winner. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission for VRM Swansea-Plates4less to use the winner’s name for purposes of advertising, unless prohibited by law.
  11. The prize is a financial contribution of £300 (three hundred pounds sterling) towards the purchase of a personalised vehicle registration mark and associated acrylic road legal number plates, from VRM Swansea-Plates4less. It is not exchangeable or transferable but the right to display the chosen registration mark is assignable to a suitable vehicle owned by a third party, once prior written permission and assistance is gained from VRM Swansea-Plates4less.
  12. The winner does not need to own a suitable registered vehicle to win the prize.
  13. The winner will be selected by an expert panel under the supervision of VRM Swansea-Plates4less. The winner will be announced on our Facebook page and contacted via Facebook Messenger, from which point they will be required to provide their name and email address and/or telephone number for further contact. The winner will be notified within 14 days of the closing date of the competition. The winner is responsible for monitoring their own Facebook account for prize notification. VRM Swansea-Plates4less shall have no liability for the winner’s failure to receive notices due to spam, junk e-mail or other security settings, or for the winner’s provision of incorrect or otherwise non-functioning contact information. If the winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, or fails to claim the prize within 28 days from the time award notification was sent, the prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner selected.
  14. By entering this competition, participants understand and agree that VRM Swansea-Plates4less has the right, where permitted by law, to print, publish, broadcast, distribute, and use in any media now known or hereafter developed, in perpetuity and throughout the world, without limitation, the participant’s name, any images submitted, and statements about the competition for promotional purposes without any further compensation, notice, review, or consent.
  15. VRM Swansea-Plates4less reserves the right to cancel, modify, or suspend the competition without prior notice should a virus, bug, non-authorized human intervention, fraud, or other cause beyond the control of VRM Swansea-Plates4less corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, or proper conduct of the competition. In such case, VRM Swansea-Plates4less may select the winner from all eligible entries received. Any attempt by an entrant to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of the competition may be a violation of criminal and civil laws. Should such attempt be made, VRM Swansea-Plates4less reserves the right to seek damages to the fullest extent permitted by law.
  16. VRM Swansea-Plates4less reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these Terms & Conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of their control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible.
  17. VRM Swansea-Plates4less reserves the right to remove competition entries and/or comments deemed to be offensive or inappropriate without prior notice.
  18. VRM Swansea-Plates4less is not responsible for inaccurate competition details supplied to any entrant by a third party.
  19. By entering, participants agree to release and hold harmless VRM Swansea-Plates4less and its subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, partners, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers, and directors from any liability, illness, injury, death, loss, litigation, claim, or damage that may occur, directly or indirectly, whether caused by negligence or not, from: (i) such entrant’s participation in the competition and/or his/her acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize or any portion thereof; (ii) technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to the malfunction of any computer, cable, network, hardware, or software, or other mechanical equipment; (iii) the unavailability or inaccessibility of any transmissions, telephone, or Internet service; (iv) unauthorised human intervention in any part of the entry process or the Promotion; (v) electronic or human error in the administration of the Promotion or the processing of entries.
  20. Decisions made by VRM Swansea-Plates4less in respect of all matters to do with this competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  21. THIS COMPETITION IS GOVERNED BY THE LAWS OF THE UNITED KINGDOM. By entering the competition, the participant agrees that any and all disputes that cannot be resolved between the parties, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this competition, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, exclusively before a court located in Swansea having jurisdiction. Further, in any such dispute, under no circumstances shall participant be permitted to obtain awards for, and hereby waives all rights to, punitive, incidental, or consequential damages, including reasonable attorney’s fees, other than participant’s actual out-of-pocket expenses. Participant further waives all rights to have damages multiplied or increased.
  22. Information submitted with an entry is subject to the Privacy Policy stated on the VRM Swansea-Plates4less website. The winner’s information will be used in order to process the prize registration and retained for the benefit of after-sales services. No other participant will be required to submit information further to their initial Facebook comment.
  23. You can print a copy of these Competition Rules if you wish to keep a copy. To obtain a copy by post, simply mail a request along with a stamped, self-addressed envelope to: VRM Swansea, PO Box 465, Swansea, SA18YN. Requests must be received no later than 22/08/2023.
