Firstly you should receive an e-mail confirmation of your order sent to the e-mail address you have given us*.Once your payment has been cleared by our bank you will receive a second e-mail with further details.
If you do not receive these then please check that the e-mail address you have given us is correct and active (it must be typed in lower case letters, not BLOCK CAPITALS). Then check that your mailbox is not over-full so that our mail can be received there. If this fails to resolve the problem then please contact us with an alternative e-mail address.
We will also be sending your confirmation of purchase documents (by first class post), and depending on which service level you have requested (together with the method of payment you have chosen) a request for certain transfer documents to be completed and returned to us in the reply envelope provided. These should arrive within three to four business days so please allow sufficient time before contacting us to advise us of non-delivery.
*In the case of New-Release offers you will receive 2 e-mails confirming your instructions and advising you of what happens next. Transfer work cannot commence until your offer to purchase the registration mark(s) is/are accepted by the Minister for Transport on the specified registration mark issue day. Transfers will be completed after your new vehicle has been registered.

Yes, you don't even need a vehicle of your own to purchase a registration mark. A mark can be assigned to the name of the person the gift is for and kept on a certificate indefinitely. The government makes an annual charge to renew certificates which are initially valid for 12 months (presently £25 per year). Yes the Government allows this upon payment of a £25 fee and processing the change can take up to 3 weeks. Q5: What is the Government retention scheme? |
Once you have a number plate on a vehicle you are the registered keeper of, you have the sole right to transfer it to another vehicle or to a holding (retention) certificate which is valid for 12 months and can be renewed annually. The fees for certification and renewal are presently £25.00 each but you will also be required to pay one £80 future transfer fee in advance, in the first instance.
