Phonetics

Private number plates can read like words. You can use visual tricks and phonetics to spell out your name or a word, such as swapping numbers for letters.

Fillers

Once you’ve chosen what you want your private numberplate to say you might find you don’t have enough characters to fill the plate. Using characters as ‘fillers’ is a great way to find a match and to create a distinctive looking plate. You can find some tips to help you below.

You can use letters as fillers by adding them at the beginning or end of words, or even in the middle.

Xs can be used as kisses and Ss and Zs can be added to the end of words to make them plural or possessive (e.g. GEMS, GEMZ)
